Quarterly News Update - August 2010

After a long delay the two new Notice Boards have been installed, and the feed back from the Torpel Way board has been encouraging. It appears that more people are reading the posted minutes and other notices.

Following the traffic questionnaire the Council expects to consider the next step in collabor- ation with Cllr Hiller. The majority of those who replied favoured reactive signs of some sort.

The Council have recently been concerned by a number of planning decisions and it is the intention to have a senior member of the planning dept attend a meeting in the autumn.
The revised bus timetable is in operation and is proving popular. The service is improved both for timing and the destinations served. The service now goes to both hospitals and Bretton Centre.

Cllr Boughton resigned in June due to work and family commitments; the council will look to co opt a replacement as soon as possible. Cllr Boughton’s contribution will be missed and thanks to her for her efforts.

Maxey Parish Council will resume the regular pattern of meetings in September.
